I'm Madison, the founder of Breathe Well Ann Arbor. I specialize in orofacial myofunctional and breathing pattern disorders, particularly focusing on sleep-disordered breathing, clenching, teeth grinding, tethered oral tissues (tongue ties, lip ties, cheek ties), and orofacial pain. As a Certified Buteyko Breathing Method Educator and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, I have over two decades of experience in the dental and airway health fields. My professional journey began as a dental hygiene assistant in a periodontal specialty clinic, which led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan in 2010. Since then, I've pursued postgraduate education in orofacial myofunctional disorders, sleep and airway health, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), and breathing re-education. I’m certified in the Buteyko Breathing Method through Buteyko Clinic International and I'm currently on the certification track as a Certified Orofacial Myologist with the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM). I passionately believe that functional breathing, quality sleep, and optimal oral health are the foundation of overall well-being. This belief deeply influences every aspect of my practice at Breathe Well Ann Arbor, where I offer services for both children and adults struggling with mouth breathing, crowded teeth, orthodontic relapse, sleep-disordered breathing, and orofacial pain. Throughout my career, I have evaluated thousands of patients, often helping to discover undiagnosed issues like sleep apnea, tongue ties, and persistent jaw pain. These conditions resonate with me due to my past health challenges, driving me to assist clients in navigating their intricate health journeys in partnership with their medical providers. In addition to my clinical efforts, I proudly serve on the Board of Directors for Airway Circle, a global organization dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of airway health. This role allows me to expand my advocacy, educating healthcare providers, parents, and patients on a broader scale. Outside of my professional life, I cherish spending time outdoors with my husband, Jake, and our two dogs, Toki and Lexi. I also have a passion for art and music, and you can often find me in my studio, painting with watercolors.
